Happy Birthday Tilly

Tilly had her Birthday at the weekend, she is now one!

We can't believe it, she is a whole year old and it seems like yesterday she was just a little puppy, all cute, fluffy, crazy, scatty and wild.

Oh my gosh she was so cute when she was this little, she scoffed like you wouldn't believe and had a teeny tiny ratty tail.

And all that scoffing made her grow, she just grew and grew and grew some more and now she is a giant dog...well maybe not a giant dog but she is certainly quite a big girl indeed.

Butter wouldn't melt huh??

She's a bit of an all action dog, her daily walks in the forest are her favourite thing and she is so funny to watch bounding around chasing imaginary stuff or more likely chasing pine cones, she is completely obsessed with chasing pine cones!

We hope that Tilly has enjoyed her first year on planet earth.  I pretty much think she has, apart from the odd telling off and and serious amounts of shouting "NO", she has it quite easy (I think).  She has toys and (quite boring) food twice a day, chews, walks, playtime, snoozes and plenty of cuddles, she gets away with lots and is utterly, utterly spoilt. Hurrah.

We just feel honoured to be her human parents, I expect her doggy parents are off somewhere in Wiltshire retrieving pheasants and working hard, it is tough sometimes being a dog owner but most of the time it is such a joy :o) especially with a sweet and loving dog like Tillster.

Happy Birthday to our beautiful girl.

spring fever - the best bedding right now

I love a freshly made bed.

And I love beautiful bedding, I could while away the hours looking at pretty quilts and pillowcases so thought I would share my favourites with you today as spring fever has taken hold and I have been dreamily looking at linens more than ever!

I've got brights, patterns, swirls and textures as well as some plain and refined looks - our bedroom is very plain with quite neutral greys, purples and creams - I wish it was a riot of colour like this one above - I wonder if I could get this quilt past Mr P??

My favourite shop is Anthropologie and I spend a shocking amount of time on their website - you will see why when you clock a load of these!!

Time for bed perhaps?

Not likely, I'm off to finish my first knitting project in about seven years.  And yes, it is a scarf, but you've got to start somewhere!!

dear March

We love you, you are a fabulous month and the arrival of spring is always welcome in this house.

We went to the Lake District this time last year, here is what Ullswater looked like on the day we arrived - stunning.

This year we are going to Mousehole in Cornwall, can't wait to show you the pictures.

March is a month of Birthdays for us, it's my Birthday (gulp), Tilly's first Birthday, my best friends Birthday and of course Mother's Day.

March means daffodils, St David's Day, St Patrick's Day and the clocks springing forward an hour - more daylight - hurrah!

Have a great March.  I know we will.
